Community Building Retreat for Women

M. Scott Peck’s Community Building Process

October 3-5, 2025

Rural Hungary

Imagine…

…… taking an early morning walk through the garden, the freshness of the air waking up your body and spirit. You sit down on the terrace with a cup of a warm drink to enjoy the murmur of the nearby creek. All is well. You have arrived…

The three days ahead of you are for you to slow down, away from the demands and responsibilities of modern life. Embraced by a quiet natural environment, you are invited to let go of your guards and just be fully yourself.

Belsőörs - ház lélekkel, hangulat

Together with a group of like minded women, you will immerse yourself in an exploration of authentic and open communication, which opens the door to deep meaningful connection and intimacy. You can fully focus on your learning experience, letting the team take care of you with delicious food, comfortable accommodation and professional guidance and support.

After the daily sessions, you may be inspired to take a walk in the surrounding woods or relax in a sauna for a good night’s sleep.

We guarantee that you will leave the retreat with a renewed sense of clarity about your patterns in relating, while feeling empowered by the new tools to bring greater harmony, intimacy and genuine connection to all your relationships.

The high pace of modern life rarely offers an opportunity like this one to stop and properly process life events. We honor you for taking this time for yourself to dive within for greater freedom, joy and peace in life.

Who is it for?

The retreat is for women, who wish to:

create an authentic, soul-fulfilling community around them,

bring more life and meaning to all their relationships,

experience deeper intimacy and joy with partners,

build trustful contact and connection with children,

 feel seen, understood and acknowledged,

be able to transform conflicts into harmony.

There is a yearning in the heart for freedom to be ourselves, to be truly seen in our relationships, partnerships and connections.

Women and community

Have you ever felt that some things can be shared and understood among women only? There is unspoken knowing that every woman shares.

We reflect each other and share similar experiences in life.

Our natural medium is connection, yet we often feel alone.

Women are a connective tissue of a community and have the ability to tune into the dynamics of relationships around them, to make peace, embrace different ways, so that everyone feels heard, called and recognized. We need to be masters of harmonizing the environment, so that relationships flow in a loving way.

Many of our relationship difficulties stem from one root. Generational patterns, difficult past experiences and social norms are often behind disappointments, misunderstandings and alienation. Nevertheless, we can learn new ways of being and communicating that allow us to step out of the familiar patterns and experience connections that are truly meaningful and fulfilling. The purpose of the retreat is to experientially learn, integrate and practice those key communication principles.

This retreat is about just that: what can we do to support real connection, trust and intimacy? What happens when we take off our usual masks?

In many cultures women gathered together for long days to do tasks and crafts.

We offer you a possibility to experience a modern way of a women’s gathering, where we sit together in a circle, we share time together learning and telling our stories, we live, eat and experience together in an intimate space arranged just for our group.

The Method of Community Building &
Authentic Communication by M. Scott Peck M.D.

The Community Building Process was developed by M. Scott Peck M.D., a renowned author of „The Road Less Traveled” and „The Different Drum”, in response to the level of polarization, isolation and the loss of civility. It is a method of open, authentic communication in groups, which for more than two decades has empowered thousands of people with skills and the experience of healthy, honest communication, inclusion, authentic connection, presence and respect. The method is used in various social spheres, in personal development, human services, in NGOs and well as business. It teaches how to look beyond the cultural, political and religious differences that prevent us from embracing our common humanity.

The focus of the Process is on learning by experiencing. Using a set of guidelines and principles rather than a particular procedure, participants are gently guided by specially trained facilitators. As a result, participants are able to personally and spontaneously receive insights into the patterns of communication in their lives, understand the dynamics in their relationships and ways of moving out of misunderstandings & conflicts into harmony and loving connection.

Community Building can be viewed as a group contemplative or mindfulness process. It is a place to experience safety to be your authentic self – and be seen, heard and respected just the way you are. It is a place to be beyond masks and let go of inner barriers to authentic connection. All the skills obtained during the Process can be integrated into daily life of your family, work or friends’ community.

During the retreat, the Process will be led by international facilitators certified by Community Building International (CBI).

CBI is a global leader in Community Building facilitation, training, consultation, and certification. It is committed to the highest levels of ethics and quality, adhering to the original methods developed by M. Scott Peck M.D.  CBI teaches skills, guidelines and methods to build “authentic connection,” “unusual safety,” and “extraordinary respect” in groups, teams, organizations and communities.

Tereza Kulhanková

Facilitator,  Czech Republic

Since the age of seventeen, I have been attracted to intentional communities, so-called community initiatives and grassroot organizations. I visited many, from the Pyrenees to Ukraine, and I cofounded several initiatives in the Tišnov area in the Czech Republic, where I live.

The Community Building workshops brought me the much-sought-after understanding of what I perceived in many groups and experienced myself. They helped me in finding way through the difficulties associated with people working together. I found in them guidelines on the journey after calling for connected hearts, and I am immensely grateful for that.

I have been working as a facilitator and lecturer, as a CB facilitator since 2020. I also work professionally in the field of food sovereignty. I am a board member and a project manager of the non-profit organisation Hojnost z.s., which advocates very practical steps to support organic farming in the Tišnov region.

For me, this program is about deepening my self-awareness and learning a peaceful way of being. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who wants to strengthen their sense of belonging to a community with a proven method.

/ Göröcs Mária /

Until now, I didn’t know what to say to people who punish themselves for their feelings.

From now on, I will give them a silent hug and tell them that there is a place where their feelings are a gift to others, and that this place is real, not only in our imaginations.

/ Pomponia Pálya /

I experienced the power of listening and how much can be said even in a community of strangers.

/ Lili Kővári /

It is a session of self awareness, where you’re not alone. It brought valuable connections, deep insights, opportunities to take big risks, and to get to know myself better and better.
